For the second consecutive year the most important German incoming event, the GTM Germany Travel Mart will be in virtual mode. Organized by the German National Tourist Board (Deutsche Zentrale für ourismus, DZT); it will have as its theme the current trends and strategic approaches for the recovery of post Coronavirus incoming tourism.

The main event of German hospitality tourism dedicated to sales will take place from 27 to 29 April; so far about 240 German exhibitors and 460 buyers from international travel industry companies and online travel companies have accredited the event.
Petra Hedorfer , Chairman of the DZT Board of Directors, said: «Despite the restrictions currently still in place for international travel; with vGTM 2021 we intend to give a clear signal for the resumption of German incoming tourism. At the international level there is great willingness to travel, and customer needs have also developed further. Today, more than ever, sustainability is of fundamental importance to customers, and German operators are well prepared in this area. Together with our partners we provide up-to-date information on offers and programs in the tourist destination “Germany”; with the aim of building trust and security in the face of the continuing Coronavirus pandemic.
The keen interest of international participants shows that the brand awareness for the German tourist destination; is intact and that the brand enjoys a high value of sympathy. At the same time, it also confirms the need not to let the contact between our German tourism partners and the buyers and information multipliers be interrupted, not even during the Coronavirus crisis. Our Germany Travel Mart digital platform allows us to present the diversity of the offer and the appeal of the brand “Germany, holiday destination” compared to international competition during and after the pandemic. ”
In addition to the business platform for direct customer conversations, vGTM 2021 offers an extensive information program with webinars and panel discussions with experts from the German National Tourist Board and the German travel industry. Topics such as how customer trust can be strengthened and the security concepts with which this can be done; the distribution of sustainable products and the presentation of the products of our strategic partners will be addressed. Webinars provide insight into current market-specific demand developments by focusing on selected source markets.
